The Fort Worth Trombone Summit is both a celebration of the instrument and an event dedicated to the advancement of trombone chamber music. In keeping with the Summit’s mission and goals, trombone quartet competitions for high school and university-age trombonists will be held in conjunction with the Summit.
Hosted by the TCU School of Music on April 10, 2010, the one-day Summit will feature performances and pedagogical presentations throughout the day, culminating in guest artist performances and the final round for the college division competition in the evening.
The Fort Worth Trombone Summit is also committed to the advocacy of contemporary music. A new work for quartet will be commissioned annually, to be used as part of the final round repertoire in the college division competition the following year.
