Luis Eduardo Diaz
Graduate of the Conservatory of the National University of Colombia, where he studied with Tetsuo Kagehira, Ruben Rodriguez and Nestor Slavov.
Began his musical studies at the Symphonic Wind Band Inem Santiago Perez with Jose Mayorga. From 1994 to 1997 he belonged to the System of Young Orchestras "Batuta".
Was a member of the Symphonic Youth Orchestra of Colombia, Cundinamarca Philharmonic Orchestra and Youth Wind Band of Cundinamarca.
With the V & P brass quartet was the winner of cycle "Monday of young performers" Bank of the Republic in 2003.
He has been soloist with the Symphonic Wind Band at the University of Cauca, the Symphonic Wind Band of the Conservatory of the National University of Colombia, Symphonic Youth Orchestra of Colombia and the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia.
He has participated in workshops with Jörgen van Rijen, Ben van Dijk, Daniel Perpiñan, Stefan Schulz, Brandt Attema, Branimir Slokar, Carol Jarvis, German Diaz, Domingo Pagliuca, Giovanni Scarpetta, Daniele Morandini, Miguel Sanchez, Javier Colomer, Vincent Lepape, Hans Strocker, Indalecio Bonet and Angel Subero.
In 2008 he recorded the piece "Sonata en las formas llaneras" for Trombone and Piano on the CD "Interfluencias" with works by Colombian composer Samuel Bedoya.
He also recorded Morceau Symphonique by Alexandre Guilmant on the CD "Musicasab III Maestros 2008".
His participation in recitals with chamber groups and as a soloist in auditoriums in Bogota and the rest of the country are permanent.
He has served as professor of trombone class in Pedagogical University and the Distrital University ASAB.
Currently and since August 2003, appointed by competition, is the principal's assistant in trombone section of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia. He also serves as professor of trombone at the Central University and the Conservatory of Tolima.
