Houston Ballet Orchestra
Michael Warny received his degree in Music Education from the University of Houston, where he studied trombone with Al Lube and euphonium with William H. Rose.
His continuing studies include Tanglewood Music Festival with the Empire Brass Quintet; and he both studied and performed with Summit Brass at the Keystone Institute.
Michael has performed and toured both nationally and internationally with the Houston Symphony, San Antonio Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Opera Vista, Houston Ballet, Chicago Chamber Brass, Texas Opera Theatre, Theatre Under the Stars and Paragon Brass Ensemble.
Mr. Warny spent 15 years on faculty at the University of Houston Moores School of Music; and, as a founding member, spent 20 years performing with The Houston Grand Opera Orchestra.
During his tenure as a faculty member of the International Festival Institute at Round Top and The Texas Music Festival, Michael helped advance the careers of numerous young musicians. Mr. Warny currently spends his summer on faculty at the American Festival for the Arts.
Michael has been a featured performer and clinician at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Conference, Texas Music Educators’ Association Convention and Texas Bandmasters Association Convention.
Currently, Mr. Warny is the Brass Specialist for Spring I.S.D. and is in great demand as a clinician, consultant and private instructor, as well as a freelance performer.
